Arrival in Luang Prabang
Saibaidee! Welcome to Luang Prabang, Laos.
Upon arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, your private guide and driver are waiting to meet you, holding up a welcome signboard with your names on it and take you directly to your hotel, the Rosewood Luang Prabang. Designed by the celebrated architect Bill Bensley, built around jungle waterfalls in the same French Colonial style as its surroundings, and it even boasts tents on stilts in the valley, this property is without question the most incredible place to honeymoon.
After checking-in, you will have time to relax and adjust to the pace of Luang Prabang. There will be a short tour briefing this afternoon followed by a hike to the top of the epic Mount Phousi (328 steps!) to watch the sunset over the city, offering incredible views — a perfect place to get some good pictures as newlyweds!
Please note: You must have both a passport and a visa to enter Laos. And your passport must also have at least six months’ validity remaining beyond the date that you enter Laos. You can get a visa on arrival in Laos. Make sure you have two passport-sizes photographs.

Luang Prabang Discovery
Morning
After late breakfast, you will start a sightseeing tour of this charming city. You’ll first step into the serene calm of one of the city’s most elaborate monasteries, Wat Mai, and then to the former King’s Palace, where you’ll discover the history and present life of Luang Prabang. Next, head to the ancient Wat Xieng Thong temple, which features a spectacular low sweeping roof. It’s Luang Prabang’s most distinctive and recognized monastery.
Enjoy lunch at Friends Restaurant, KhaiPhaen. It’s a social enterprise based restaurant that empowers disadvantaged youth with vocational training amongst other support.
Afternoon
After lunch, continue to explore the 16th century Wat Visoun temple, best known for its enormous stupa and its collection of old gilded Buddhas.
Pay a visit to the Traditional Art and Ethnology Centre (TAEC)**, where you will learn about the diversity of Laos’ many unique ethnic minorities. Then enjoy a romantic afternoon at L’Hibiscus Spa where you will receive an herbal foot massage and a 90-minute aromatherapy massage, followed by a beautiful sunset on the spa’s balcony.
Evening
Enjoy a candlelit dinner at Manda de Laos, Luang Prabang’s finest restaurant. After that, you are free to wander through the night market. Your guide and driver will be waiting to bring you back to your hotel at your preferred time.

Luang Prabang – Pak Ou – Ban Xang Hay
Wake up early and head by Tuk-Tuk like a local to the peninsula to witness and attend almsgiving. Every morning, hundreds of monks from the various monasteries walk through the streets collecting alms. This ancient ritual is locally known as “tak bat”. After the ritual, return to the hotel for your breakfast.
Morning
After breakfast, head out for some outdoor activities. Before the mist has evaporated over the distant mountains take a leisurely boat ride Mekong River. Along the way, you ill discover life along the river and the many ways that the locals use the river in their daily life. The two-hour boat trip will take you to the famous limestone caves, called the Pak Ou caves which house thousands of Buddha statues of all styles and sizes. There are two caves, both accessed by stairs. The lower cave, Tham Ting, is naturally lit. The upper cave, Tham Phum, is deeper yet easily explored.
Finish exploring the caves, return to Luang Prabang. On the way back, make a stop in Ban Xang Hay to try some delicious, traditional rice-wine.
Afternoon
Get back to your hotel and spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Your tent room at the Rosewood has large decks that are perfect for cuddling with your honey and stargazing. Don’t miss the opportunity to have a couples massage in one of the spa tents, with windows on the floor under your faces so you can watch the trickling stream glide past.
Evening
Venturing out to some of the best Laotian restaurants where chefs will teach you about the wonderful Laotian cuisine and you will help to cook dinner!

Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfalls
Morning
After breakfast, continue your outdoor adventure. You will be picked up again and driven to the famous Kuang Si Waterfall, one of the most spectacular swimming holes on the continent.
Upon arrival, take a guided trek along trails. A series of otherworldly aquamarine falls increasing in size until you reach the top massive attraction. Dreamy photos are definitely encouraged at this spot. Enroute picking herbs, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and other wild plants growing in abundance. Try a hand at fishing local style and help prepare a ‘jungle-style’ picnic lunch with your fresh ingredients.
Afternoon
After lunch, you will have plenty of time to swim, explore, and photograph the waterfalls as well as you stroll through the lush surrounding jungle. After that, the tour guide will take your family to the Bear Rescue Centre near the falls where you will be greeted by the manager who will personally guide you through the park. See one of Lao’s most endangered species; learn about the threats to these beautiful animals and what is being done to help protect Laos’s precious wildlife. You will also have a chance to meet the bears at close quarters and aid the keepers at feeding time.
If time permits, pay a visit to the Kuang Si Butterfly Park to see some of the beautiful species of butterflies that live in Laos.
Back in Luang Prabang, you will have the unique opportunity to experience an age-old tradition and a very important custom in Laos, The Baci. The purpose of The Baci is to call back escaped spirits to the body and it is usually performed before major events like weddings, births, and travel.
