HCM City – Cu Chi Tunnels by Speedboat (Joined Group)
Morning
You will be picked up from your hotel at 07:00 AM and transferred to the pier to begin your journey to Cu Chi Tunnels in VIP style. At 07:15 AM, we depart by modern speedboat, gliding along the Saigon River before the large tour groups arrive. As you travel, enjoy a light breakfast on board while your English-speaking guide shares fascinating stories about life along the riverbanks and the significance of this waterway in Vietnam’s history.
At approximately 08:40 AM, we arrive at Cu Chi, located 75 km from the city center. After a short introduction, your guide will take you on a journey through one of the most historic wartime sites in Vietnam. The Cu Chi Tunnels, a vast network stretching over 250 kilometers, were built by the Viet Cong to resist both French and American forces. This extensive underground system is a powerful reminder of the resourcefulness, endurance, and struggle of those who lived and fought here.
We begin with a brief documentary that provides historical context, followed by a guided walk through the reserve. You’ll witness a chilling demonstration of hidden traps and wartime weapons used during the conflict. For those interested, there’s an opportunity to enter the tunnels—though they have been widened and cleaned for visitors, they remain dark and narrow, so participation is optional for those uncomfortable with enclosed spaces.
After the tour, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a local riverside restaurant. Then, we begin our return trip to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving back in the city at approximately 1:00 PM.
Afternoon
The rest of the afternoon and evening will be free at your leisure.
For your dining experience, we would highly recommend the top-notch Noir Restaurant where you can embark on a culinary journey like no other: Dining in the Dark. Experience a different world in which you savor exquisite tastes and textures in complete darkness.
