Highlights of Lombok Island Tour 8 Days

A warm greeting awaits at Lombok International Airport; your private guide and driver will meet you in the arrivals lounge and drive you directly to your hotel. Your knowledgeable guide will be happy to answer any questions along the way and will assist you with check-in and registration at the hotel.

After a short rest, we’ll head out for some sightseeing.

The trip will start in Lombok, east of The Wallace Line. Wallace found out in the 19th century that fauna and flora differ greatly between West and East Indonesia. The imaginary line separating the two is called the Wallace line up to this day. It runs through the Lombok Strait, encompassing some of the deepest oceans in the region. Before going to the hotel, start exploring Lombok and several handicraft villages surround Mataram, the sleepy provincial capital.

This tour will give you an opportunity to experience the mountainous and natural beauty on the height combined with a flat green area. Start with a visit to Loyok, a village known for the fine quality of Lombok handicrafts made from bamboo and palm leaves. Next will be the village of Sapiy, which offers cool air, terrace rice fields, stunning view and attractive forest and breathtaking panorama.

Then we will head to the village of Sembalun and the traditional Sasak villages on the eastern slopes of Mount Rinjani, with cool weather and breathtaking views. Continue to the magnificent waterfall at the southern foot of Mount Rinjani and enjoy the beautiful panoramic view. Explore the traditional village located at the main gateway to Mount Rinjani before ending today’s tour on a beautiful windy road, which offers a spectacular panorama of coastline and hill.

After breakfast, it will be a short drive to the local harbor for your traditional boat to Gili Trawangan. You will be dropped off on Gili Trawangan, a little tropical paradise, with superb white sandy beaches, clear water, colorful fish and beautiful coral reefs. The rest of the day you will be free to explore these magnificent surroundings.

Note: there are no motorized vehicles on the island, you can hire a cidomo (horse cart) if you’d like to explore the island.

You will have ample time for beach activities or snorkeling. Get on a glass-bottom boat and travel slowly from one island to the other one. You may stop as often as you like to snorkel or swim, perhaps even among large sea turtles.

After breakfast, take the cidomo ride back to the harbour for check-in on a high-speed boat back to Bali, where the trip will end. It will take you just over 2 hours to arrive from Lombok. During the first part of the trip, it is but impossible to miss out on the mighty image of Mount Agung for even a few moments.
