Asia Pioneer organised a two week trip to Vietnam for us. Our tour started in Hanoi, then we visited Sapa, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City. We visited so many wonderful places but my personal favourite was Sapa – the mountain views were breath-taking.

Our consultant Lam was very responsive from our first contact, replying to our emails promptly, and he kindly met us for lunch in Hanoi to make sure we were enjoying our trip. We also called Lam during our trip as we had a minor query about one of our transfers, but Lam quickly reassured us that everything was in hand.

Everything ran very smoothly – a guide and a driver met us at every destination. The drivers were all very good – we always felt safe. The tour guides were excellent – all spoke great English and were really friendly. Most of all, they all had excellent local knowledge and they gave us a real insight into the history and culture of Vietnam.

We could not be happier with Asia Pioneer. We love to travel and I usually spend months and months planning our perfect trip on our own. However, this time a friend recommended Asia Pioneer to me. I was skeptical since most travel agencies are far more expensive than if I were to plan it myself. I priced everything out so that I wouldn’t be bamboozled. To my surprise, they fit perfectly within our budget and were incredibly affordable. Their customer service is top notch.

We are currently living in Japan and the company is based in Vietnam. The customer service is top notch. Our agent called us multiple times, emailed us almost daily, and met us for lunch in Hanoi to make sure we were enjoying our trip. There are no words to explain how awesome the experience was.

We first went to Thailand, then to Laos, then to Vietnam, then on to Cambodia. There was someone to meet us at every airport. Everyone spoke perfect English. We had daily guided tours, in English. They took us to eat every day so that we could taste the cuisine, but within a safe environment. I was very concerned with safety and sanitation since I was pregnant. There was one night we had issues with our hotel and our agent took care of it immediately. Wonderful! wonderful! wonderful! I can’t say enough good things.

Asia Pioneer – Kata Tran/agent designed the PERFECT private tour for our introductory trip to South East Asia! From our first inquiries to the day of arrival Kata responded with touring information, support for VISA applications and answers to our questions – via a Skype session, emails, or a phone call. Asia Pioneer developed the perfect itinerary for 4 adults who wanted more than a “standard tour” focusing on authentic activities: food experiences, historical sites, and active adventures. The balance of activities was perfect with a well timed “day on our own” in the middle of the 14 day tour! Our local tour guides were EXCELLENT providing us with a balance of walking, riding, and touring sites providing background information, personal insights, and a tourist’ “comfort level” that can only come from a “local” guide who is most familiar with the areas visited. The guides also considered our personal interests and professional backgrounds in “tailoring” our tour itinerary and experiences. From our airport greeting in Hanoi, Vietnam to our farewell in Siem Reap, Cambodia we were provided with EXCELLENT services: guides & drivers in an 11 passenger AC van, wonderful, comfortable and well located hotels, well chosen touring sites and experiences, delicious food experiences and much appreciated personal attention e.g., which ATM machines/reliable and safe, ideas for shopping, suggestions for “on our own” places to eat.
Highlight of of tour? We can’t pick out just one as every day was filled with incredibly memorable sights and experiences!

This was our 1 st trip to Indochina and we were looking forward to it.
Lam helped us to plan our trip. He did a good job overall but being myself in the tourist bussness I think it is important that I be honest with him.
Our 1 st stop was Hanoi , our guide Nam was OK ,his english was not great and he spend a lot of time on his phone, but he was friendly and very respectfull.
on the next stop in Holong Bay Lam chose Aclass cruise ,the guide Tom was really nice and help us thru a very difficult situation,.,
On our trip to Hue and Hoi An our guide Mr Bang was very knowledgeable and spoke good english, the driver was good also.
The best guide we had was in HO Chi Ming city, Tiger spoke great english and was eager to show us and tell us everything about his city. He was very passionate about everything.
In SIem Reap we had a good guide as well and a great english speaking driver from T.J Go car rental.
So 3 out of 4 is pretty good.
As far as the hotels were concerned they were good , but the one in Siem Reap was too far from the city but good.
We wanted to visit PhnomPenh but according to Lam it was not worth it, we did it anyway on our own and it was really worth iand we should insist on saying that one should make it a point to visit it (Lam we found a great hotel FIT: OK boutique hotel)
.Had a little argument with Lam as we had too many days without activities planned but I guess we should have told him that we were the type of couple that wants to do a lot during our vacations I had also mentionned that I did not like to be taken to places that tried to sell you something but that never fails the guides do end up taking us to places like that.
All the cars and the drivers were very good and we felt very safe.
Overall our trip was well planned , there were few places that we could have visited if we had been told before , but it was too late we heard about it from people on different tours. We were willing to extend our stay as we actually did on our own.
Another thing we would have liked a few more lunches incorporated in our tours as like when we were taken straight from the airport to Cu Chi tunnels and there were no place to have lunch…..
We were promised a phone with data in each city but our guides did not know anything about it.
Overall it was a great 1 st trip and we liked the Vietnamese people and the Cambogian people.
Both the countries are beautifful and we hope that they will keep their originality as we saw a lot of construction going on with way too mordern buildings.

I was in Viet Nam for 18days on a solo tour for the first time in my life. I have dealt with Mr Lam who was a Director of the company. He was very negotiable, very responsive to my eMails, very reasonable, very active respectable young man. While I am on my tour, according to the agreed schedule I wanted to replace with some other attractions which I really liked after I heard about that particular attraction. I thought it was not possible because I have agreed for everything in black n white. But after sending an eMail to Mr Lam, he was very happy to change the schedule according to my request without charging any extra. He is really approachable and very flexible. I can recommend him to any traveller around the world. Even he has contacted me(in Australia) several times over phone from Viet Nam. Asia Pioneer has booked all my domestics flights without any problem. And also they have booked nice, comfortable (3 to 4 stars)hotels, Home stays, Boutique hotels starting from HoChiMing City , Da Lat, Nha Tranh, Hue, Ha Noi, Sa Pa and Halong Bay. The packages included all breakfasts, and some lunches. I did not have any problems with hot water in any of the accommodations I had. Indochina Pionneer chosen me a best cruise liner for my overnight stay in Halong Bay. That was the best cruise I ever had with a balcony. All the guides and drivers were very thorough in their fields of expertise in explaining the history of attractions while driving to the sites and on-sites. All the guides I had in my journey were very helpful. All the drivers were very good in their defensive driving techniques specially in hilly places and on very narrow roads. Even I got sick with muscle cramp on my calf while walking and could not walk further..that time the guide has given me a good relaxing massage on the roadside for about half an hour and could start walking with a bit of a pain again after that. They were so helpful when you are in trouble or in pain or need any medical attention.They are very well trained. I do not have anything to complain about Asia Pioneer Travel Co. in Ha Noi. I will consider the same company for my future travel to (Asia) Cambodia, Thailand and Laos in future. I think they have the best competitive deals I ever gone thru’ with other local companies. I did not have any problems with food where I ate from their hotels they have booked. Thanks Mr Lam for hosting a grand lunch for me on my last day in Ha Noi just before my departure to Australia. We recently visited Vietnam as a Family of 12 (aged 18ys-68yrs) My daughter organised this with Mr Lam at Asia Pioneer. Our tour started in Ho Chi Min City and ended at Hanoi. We visited so many wonderful places it is hard to pick a favourite.
We had 2 internal flights, many coach rides, various boatrides, bicycles, trains, you name it we did it
Our 2 night 3 day Trip on Halong Bay with Indochina Junk was perfect. We were treated like ROYALTY. Everywhere we went and everywhere we stayed the staff was amazing. Lovely friendly people who could not do enough for you
The Tour Guides provided by Indochina were excellent.Friendly, helpful,good English, funny. Wing, Nam, Thuy, Tony You all Rock. Sorry if I have forgotten anyone
