What a fantastic holiday we have just had. Lam from Asia Pioneer organised a private tour for the four of us, I would definitely recommend a private tour over a large group tour. It is just like having a local friend show you around each area. We were able to experience things that would not have been possible in a larger group – like the food tours which were fantastic, visiting small local shops to taste the delicious food and other activities like the basket boats and Sampan rides – just not possible in a large group.
We did a 15 day Best of Vietnam tour of Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon. The tour had a good level of content and many meals included. We have come home with some great memories and photos.
Hanoi with its busy traffic was a great introduction to the tour. We enjoyed walking through the minority villages in Sapa and the Huong Hai Sealife Cruise on Halong Bay was excellent. The boat, like the hotels we stayed in were all high quality. The hotels were also located well so that we could easily get around in our spare time. Hoi An is a great spot to visit and we enjoyed the village and also the other activities like the basket boat rides, another great food tour and a visit to My Son Holy Land. In Saigon we enjoyed our trip to the Mekong Delta where we we embarked on a scenic boat trip on the Ben Tre River, a Sampan and Motor Cart ride, and a delicious lunch. We also found the Cu Chi Tunnels interesting
The guides were great and spoke English well. Tuan, Sissy, Bao and Larry- thanks for showing us around. We enjoyed your jokes Bao! The drivers were also good and thanks to the driver in Hue/Hoi An who was always ready with a bottle of icy cold water after we had been out and about.
I found Asia Pioneer Tours on tripadvisor and was impressed by their high ratings and reviews. We were not disappointed and are very happy that we chose this tour over the larger group tour we had been looking at.

We returned recently from a private tour organized by Mr. Lam for two families with teenagers traveling to Cambodia and Vietnam. We had an excellent 18 day holiday. All of our guides friendly, knowledgable and very well organized. There were very flexible and ensured that our group was happy and satisfied with our itineraries. Every detail of the trip went smoothly including airport pickup, tours and hotels. The quality of the hotels were excellent. We would highly recommend Asia Pioneer for anyone looking to travel in this region. Mr. Lam was very responsive and took care of every detail quickly and accurately. Just got back from our holiday in Vietnam which was organised by Ruby of Asia Pioneer. I contacted Ruby by email over a year ago to make an enquiry and her communication, planning and responsiveness has been outstanding. She planned a tour tailored to what we wanted to do/see – Hanoi, Halong bay, Hue, Hoi An, and Ho Chi Min. We didn’t have to worry about anything as it had been arranged with great efficiency and all ran like clockwork. The quality of the hotels was excellent and our guides Tong,Tan,Nam and Thai were all very knowledgable and entertaining. Our drivers were also amazing and kept us regularly supplied with lots of ice cold water. I can honestly say that this was the best holiday we have ever had and I can’t thank Ruby enough for planning such a great itinerary for us. It was also lovely to meet her in person when she took the trouble to visit us in our hotel in Hanoi. If you are thinking of arranging a tour in South East Asia I can highly recommend this company.

Just got back from our family holiday in Vietnam organised by Mr Lam of Asia Pioneer.
We had a excellent 12 night trip of which everything went smoothly. Right from the early planning stages Mr Lam responded quickly to my many email enquires through to arriving in Vietnam where we were greeted by all our fabulous tour guides(Tan, Bao 1, Bao 2 and Limh) at each location.
All the hotels Mr Lam booked lived up to our high expectations, in fact we quite often were given upgrades.
Overall I would highly recommend Asia Pioneer for your next visit to Vietnam.

A group of 19 went on a self tailored tour of Cambodia and Vietnam organised by Asia Pioneer. We were impressed with the professionalism showed by the company. We were happy with every aspect in particular with the accommodation and the tour guides. The cost of the tour was very reasonable and well worth the money.
Mr. Lam has been very efficient, helpful and thorough throughout the entire time. He even came and meet us in person at Hanoi.
