We used Asia Pioneer to travel to Vietnam and Cambodia. Our trip manager, Kata Tran, did a great job planning our custom trip. She was thorough in planning, and communicated necessary information efficiently.

Every step was well planned, and we didn’t have any problems whatsoever. Our local guides and drivers were always on time and never left us waiting. The hotels were exactly what we asked for, and the chosen restaurants along our route were great.

Mr. Lam and Asia Pioneer made our recent trip to Vietnam and Cambodia more than a five star experience. I love to plan trips for my friends and myself. When I started planning for our group of six, I contacted six top-rated travel agencies on TripAdvisor. Mr. Lam’s return email and the unique itinerary stood out among all other top agencies: from hotel choices, Halong Bay cruise to variety activities and in-depth visits. The combination of food and city tours is great. During planning, Mr Lam always replied promptly and provided valuable insight and great suggestions. Mr Lam was very patient and put everything together smoothly when we decided to add two more friends last minute. Mr Lam is very experienced and understands the needs of different travelers very well. It turned out we had a couple picky eaters in our group. Mr Lam and the tour guides made timely adjustments and made sure everyone were well taking care of.
Our tour guide Mr Toan in Hue and Hoi An deserves a special thank you. He is very knowledgeable and humorous. He is also very thoughtful and prepared. A little thing goes a long way, like a chilled wet napkin after a long walk, a wet napkin handed to you right after you sample some banana bought on the street, a map for you right on the spot when you have some free time. You can feel he loves Hoi An and wants to show you everything he knows. When people get tired, he adjusted pace accordingly and kept everyone going. He made sure everyone is well taking care of in the group.
I highly recommend Asia Pioneer. In fact, a couple of my friends are so impressed by our trip and they already contacted Mr Lam to plan their trip to Vietnam.

We have just returned from a fabulous personalised tour of Vietnam organised by Lam and Asia Pioneer. We visited Hanoi, had an overnight cruise on the Dragon Pearl Junk on Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, HCMC and an overnight cruise on the Song Xanh Sampan on the Mekong Delta. Everything was perfectly organised and the excellent, personalised service was incredible. It was great to be met at each airport and not have to worry about a thing!

Each of our guides was extremely knowledgeable and they never tired of answering our questions! It was great to hear about the history of each place, as well as them sharing their own personal stories with us. The drivers were always on time, polite and the bottle of water and cold face wipe were appreciated each time we returned to the car.

The accommodation in every city was fantastic and well located. We especially loved the Betel Gardens villas in Hoi An, where we enjoyed relaxing by the pool on our free day.

We highly recommend Lam and Asia Pioneer to anyone planning a trip to Indochina.

We booked out tour with kata and have had a wonderful 2 weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia. Picked up and transported to hotel. We arrived on 2 separate flights. Vietnam is really wonderful and managed to squeeze in several cities. Halong bay, Mekong delta, hue, Ho Chi Minh city and sadly only one day in hoian. Would definitely have enjoyed an extra day there drifting around the streets and restaurants on the other side of the river. We loved our holiday and mr lam and indochina were so helpful when we had an unexpected problem. Would highly recommend.

Having used Asia Pioneer and Mr Lam in January 2016, we once again called on his excellent knowledge and experience to help with our latest trip to Hanoi, Lao, and Myanmar. Mr Lam put together a wonderful holiday experience where most of our time was spent visiting Myanmar. The company used is Myanmar provided knowledgeable guides and pleasant drivers. We had a relaxing time having 3 nights with Amara River Cruise. With only 6 guests and staff of 13 one felt very spoilt. Our favourite place is Hanoi but added to our list is the superb Inle Lake. A big thank you to Lam as well as Dong, Ken, Sai, Cho, Aung, Tin and Lin and all drivers.

We provided some input as to what we wanted to see and do and they seamlessly put it all together for us. There wasn’t one glitch in our trip and we all said we wouldn’t change anything.
All of our guides and drivers were amazing. They spoke English well and couldn’t do enough for us. They told us where and what to eat often buying food for us to sample from the markets and street vendors.The drivers were very experienced and careful even in the large cities where you might be taking your life in your hands just crossing the street. They even taught us how to cross the street safely which is an art in its self.
We went to the obvious and well known sights but also some that were off the beaten track. We travelled by air, 5 internal flights, boat and Sampan, train, bike, kayak and canoe. I couldn’t say there was a favorite thing to do or see. We were blown away each time we went somewhere even when thinking do we really need to go to another market. They were all so individual and amazing and the temples as well.
