Our family had an absolutely wonderful experience using Asian Pioneer Travel Company. From the very first email and text from Chloe to the last goodbye at the airport from our driver to go home and ending with the follow-up emails once we got home was al amazing and more than we could have ever imagined. This was a once in a lifetime experience for my husband and myself as well as our three children, 13,10,8. We all learned so much history and enjoyed seeing the different regions of Vietnam. Starting from the North in Hanoi, then to DaNang, Hoi Ann, and lastly to Hoi Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta cruise. From the north to the south we’re so different and so unique in its own ways. We absolutely loved the small groups and riding bikes around the different small villages. The children loved the markets and barging and the relaxing delta cruise was a perfect ending. Overall it was a wonderful vacation and one we will treasure for a lifetime! A huge thank you to Eric,in Hanoi, Ken on the ha long bay cruise, cong on the biking excursion while on cruise, Bobby our waiter who was amazing, and especially jughy on the Bassac Cruise and Mekong Delta! I did 36 days & my partner did 16 days with this company touring Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and finishing in Phu Quoc.
It was originally planned before COVID arrived, but it was so easy to contact Lizzie again and put it together.
The itinerary that was put together was amazing, I also did my own research to cover my own interests.
The main thing that stands out is the available support 24/7, it was fabulous.
All the transport connections were flawless throughout, all I had to do was confirm on the odd occasion.
The guides supplied were on the whole excellent, it was nice to build up a relationship with them as their knowledge of the area’s was so good.
Attention to detail was 1st class, for example, I left a shirt on the Halong Bay cruise which was recovered and posted to my final hotel before flying home !!
This is not the cheapest option, however a seamless travel experience is what we found. It was pretty full on but down times were factored in so we had time to ourselves.
This was a superb experience, highly recommended.

Thoroughly planned and 24/7 available support throughout the trip. We just had to show up and almost everything went great! The things that didn’t Elly was there to make right.

In 2019, we arranged for a private tour of Thailand for October/November 2020 as a pre-tour to our Viking Mekong River cruise. Covid stopped that: we rebooked for 2021 and again covid. Contact with Mr. Lam at the agency assured us that our deposit remained safe with them and we continued to hope and plan that we would be able to visit Asia. In June 2023, I contacted Asia Pioneer and Ms. Elly Do took us through our previous itinerary and we worked together to enhance it. Ms Elly suggested places and activities that enriched our time in Thailand. Bangkok-temples, wats, pagodas, palace, floating market, train market, dry and wet markets, long tail boat rides, street food tours and coconut ice cream. Then on to Kanchanaburi where the Thai/Burma railway was built during the war, riding the train over the Bridge over the River Kwai and viewing the local crops such as sugar cane and tapioca bushes. History of this time is seen at the Railway Museum. Then to Ayutthaya where the Buddha head is wrapped with tree roots. We had the best guide Mr. OH and driver, Mr. SAKI who were so knowledgeable, anticipated our every need and were so much fun to be with. Mr. SAKI was always ready with an ice cold cloth for us to wipe down after being out in the heat and humidity. Then we were off to Chang Rai and Chang Mai and the temples of that area, with a stop at the House of Opium museum and a stop at the Golden Triangle where we had a long boat ride on the river. We saw coffee plantations, elephant sanctuary for rescued beasts, had a blessing from monks following almsgiving ceremony, visited Karen hill tribe villages and enjoyed Khum Lanna retreat with cooking classes, cool mountain air and massages.
We ended our trip in Hanoi and were delighted that Ms. Elly came from her Hanoi office to meet us. Ms. Elly has excellent English. We spoke via WhatsApp when we were making arrangements. She responded quickly to any emailed questions. Documents arrived in a timely manner.

Elly was so kind and responded so quickly. We came up with a custom trip to Vietnam that fit within my budget. I was very excited with our plans but life circumstances forced me to cancel the trip 6 months in advance. She was so understanding and promptly refunded my deposit with no fees.
