I would like to personally thank Stella Nguyen from the Asia pioneer team who was very patient with us( a group of 10) through out the planning process. She was very swift with her responses and made several changes to our tour itinerary with no complaints.
I would recommend Asia Pioneer to anyone wanting to get the real Bali experience.

We wanted to travel though Laos, Vietnam and into Cambodia and decided the best way would be to find a tour agency to assist and organise for us given we have not been before. We were travelling to Malaysia first then Thailand then onto Laos, but would manage the first part ourselves. We selected Asia Pioneer Travel and were assigned Lizzie as our travel expert. We briefed her on an outline of where we wanted to go and for how long and she managed it all from there. In preparing the itinerary, we continued to have a say in places to stay at and things to do after her recommendations. We found the whole planning process fun and making us already look forward to our adventure. Lizzie was so helpful in organising, ensuring we were prepared and informed and really quick to respond to our emails and questions. But our surprise was just how good her selection of adventure, tour guides and drivers as well as accommodation were. Tour guides were so prompt, attentive, flexible if we wanted to change anything given the hot climate and great with speaking english and the drivers so experienced navigating through at time heavy traffic and always offering things like cold drinks and ice cold flannels as we return from our walks. Our adventures were just so good especially given as first time to these countries, it was easy to feel a love for the people there and recognise their resilience and energy especially the young generation coming through. Some of our guides went above and beyond being happy to stay with us at night time and show us placers to eat, shop and relax. Behind all this was the support from Asia Pioneer Travel with Lizzie in constant contact to ensure all was well and knowing any issues were just a phone call away. We had 24 days and not one glitch the whole time. An example would be a guide taking us to catch a train and not leaving till we were firmly settle in our train compartment. No definitely couldn’t ask any more from a service provider and these memories we have made will be cherished forever. Something tells me we will be back sometime later to enjoy seeing the land, food and people of this part of our world.
As to the negatives on our trip, the only one was the weather being unlucky to strike Halong Bay trip when it was really cold. The day we got off the boat was perfect and great temperature! It didn’t stop us though enjoying the great sights, boat trips and people on board.

Oh, where do we start? We used Asia Pioneer Travel 5 years ago to visit Vietnam and decided to use them again for our 4 week holiday to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We decided on Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam.
Lizzie our travel consultant from start to finish went above & beyond. W had a couple of hiccups on the way with flights, nothing to do with Asia Pioneer Travel, that Lizzie bent over backwards to help sort out and overcome.
We had a pretty good idea of the type of itinerary we wanted but left it up to Lizzie to provide the first draft. Over several months leading up to our holiday we emailed and spoke to Lizzie with minor changes and some personal recommendations for our visit in Vietnam. So our itinerary was then finalised and deposit paid. 9 internal flights & 11 hotels! Which may sound busy & hectic, but the lovely hotels that Lizzie booked, along with our free days that we requested makes for a relaxing & exciting holiday.
The guides that were assigned to us were very knowledgeable & very flexible e.g. due to the heat at 42 degrees and an injury to my Ankle that happened before the holiday, they were able to change things around. For instance organising a car rather than cycling in the blistering heat.
They all spoke very good English, made and feel very welcome and most importantly “fun” especially Vinh Ka in Hanoi. All the guides were happy to go along at our pace – both in our early sixties now but I keep telling myself its the new forties.
Lizzie had organised a cooking lesson in Hanoi at “Tam Cuisine” which was a great experience and was topped off by a celebratory 40th anniversary cake from Lizzie & the team at Asia Pioneer Travel.
Our days included lots of visits to temples, waterfalls, elephant sanctuary, theatres, food tours & one of our favourites was the Vespa Tour in Hanoi.
Overall, Lizzie & the team were fantastic. We did have a holiday of a lifetime. Asia Prisoner are not the cheapest but in our opinion are THE BEST!

I found Asia Pioneer Travel while trying to plan our 6-day itinerary myself. After registering, Cherry reached out to me immediately. She listened to our requests, and we managed to visit 5 cities in 6 days! She booked all the flights, tours, and airport pickups. She even helped change our flights to accommodate one of my work calls. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Cherry and Asia Pioneer Travel. We will definitely use them for future travels.

Visited Vietnam for 19 days arranged by Ms. Elly at Asia Pioneer. Our trip was loosely based on their Very Best of Vietnam itinerary but with numerous changes. Ms. Elly was delightful to work with and very accommodating to our requests. She rearranged things so we could be in Hoi An for the Full Moon Festival and that is an event we highly recommend you include in your visit.

The whole journey went smoothly – every transfer and guide arrived on time and prepared, the hotels were fabulous, with many upgraded rooms. We had a fabulous cruise on Ha Long Bay (added a second night there which was well worth it). We had a Hoi An day tour that included a bike ride and coconut boat ride, but the surprise was the lunch at Dao Tien restaurant. It was a gourmet tasting menu and one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Our day tour in Hue included a stop at an Orphanage for a vegetarian lunch which was also fabulous. Our Mekong Delta tour included a stop in Ben Tre for another gourmet lunch in an unlikely location.

Can’t say enough about the tour company and Ms Elly. This is a trip we will remember as one of the best thanks to the efforts of Ms Elly. No detail was overlooked which made this a remarkable experience in so many ways.
