We start planning very early for our extended family ages ranging 18 to 69 holiday to Vietnam. I used TripAdvisor and found Asia Pioneer and emailed them. I got a reply from Mr Lam extremely fast even when we were not travelling for over a year. We told Mr Lam how long we wanted to travel for and that we wanted to see a lot of Vietnam. He customised our tour perfectly once we all confirmed our flights and passport details we paid directly into there bank.
Our 17 day tour started in Ho Chi Min 3 days, Hoi An 4, Hue 2,Sapa 2, Nah Dim 1,Halong Bay 2, and finished in Hanoi 3.
All our guides Wing, Nam, Tony, and Tre spoke excellent English and they all were very energetic and informative. Our drivers were all very safe also.
I would highly recommend Mr Lam and Asia Pioneer we feel we have seen a lot done a lot and had the best holiday and very hard to name a highlight as it was all so fantastic. Thank you

My boyfriend and I were joining a group tour of southern Vietnam and Cambodia, but wanted to spend a few days in norther Vietnam prior to the group tour. After some initial research of various tour operators in Hanoi, I contacted Asia Pioneer to arrange airport transfers, a one day tour of Hanoi, and a 2 day/1 night Halong Bay trip. My initial email to IP was answered very quickly by Kata, who would be my main contact. She was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process and any questions, etc were addressed very quickly. I work for for a tour operator here in the U.S. dealing with clients and their travel plans, so set high standards for customer support and IP was outstanding in this respect. For the Hanoi Tour, we were able to tailor the sights to suit our particular interests, and the guide they arranged for us was excellent. I also loved the included lunch at KOTO, a restaurant that takes in street youth and trains them for positions in the hospitality industry. Halong Bay was absolutely wonderful and one of my favorite parts of our entire journey throughout SEAsia. Kata sent me several options for Halong Bay and we decided on the Indochina Junk cruise, which I would highly recommend. I even had the chance to meet Kata after our return from Halong Bay (hello Kata!). A true professional; she is a great asset to IP.

We hope to return to Vietnam in a few years, specifically to see Sapa, Hoi An, and spend more time in Halong Bay, and would definitely use IP again. We had a very limited amount of time in Vietnam, so thank you IP and Kata for helping us make the most of it!

We have just returned from a 16 day tour of Vietnam and Cambodia arranged by Asia Pioneer. We asked for 5 star hotels and travel and everything to be covered by first class guides and that is exactly what we got.The hotels were the best there are and generally excellent, the itinerary complete and the guides outstanding. They were always early at airports and our hotels, attentative and polite and saw us right through to check in at airports.

We were concerned at booking directly with a Vietnamise agency from the UK but need not have been. They were responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and delivered exactly what they promised.

A highlight of the holiday was the boat trip in Halong. The boat was brilliant but a word of advice – you need at least two nights to justify the road journey and to see the area properly by boat.

We recently visited Vietnam as a Family of 12 (aged 18ys-68yrs) My daughter organised this with Mr Lam at Asia Pioneer. Our tour started in Ho Chi Min City and ended at Hanoi. We visited so many wonderful places it is hard to pick a favourite.
We had 2 internal flights, many coach rides, various boatrides, bicycles, trains, you name it we did it
Our 2 night 3 day Trip on Halong Bay with Indochina Junk was perfect. We were treated like ROYALTY. Everywhere we went and everywhere we stayed the staff was amazing. Lovely friendly people who could not do enough for you

I was in Viet Nam for 18days on a solo tour for the first time in my life. I have dealt with Mr Lam who was a Director of the company. He was very negotiable, very responsive to my eMails, very reasonable, very active respectable young man. While I am on my tour, according to the agreed schedule I wanted to replace with some other attractions which I really liked after I heard about that particular attraction. I thought it was not possible because I have agreed for everything in black n white. But after sending an eMail to Mr Lam, he was very happy to change the schedule according to my request without charging any extra. He is really approachable and very flexible. I can recommend him to any traveller around the world. Even he has contacted me(in Australia) several times over phone from Viet Nam. Asia Pioneer has booked all my domestics flights without any problem. And also they have booked nice, comfortable (3 to 4 stars)hotels, Home stays, Boutique hotels starting from HoChiMing City , Da Lat, Nha Tranh, Hue, Ha Noi, Sa Pa and Halong Bay. The packages included all breakfasts, and some lunches. I did not have any problems with hot water in any of the accommodations I had. Indochina Pionneer chosen me a best cruise liner for my overnight stay in Halong Bay. That was the best cruise I ever had with a balcony. All the guides and drivers were very thorough in their fields of expertise in explaining the history of attractions while driving to the sites and on-sites. All the guides I had in my journey were very helpful. All the drivers were very good in their defensive driving techniques specially in hilly places and on very narrow roads. Even I got sick with muscle cramp on my calf while walking and could not walk further..that time the guide has given me a good relaxing massage on the roadside for about half an hour and could start walking with a bit of a pain again after that. They were so helpful when you are in trouble or in pain or need any medical attention.They are very well trained. I do not have anything to complain about Asia Pioneer Travel Co. in Ha Noi. I will consider the same company for my future travel to (Asia) Cambodia, Thailand and Laos in future. I think they have the best competitive deals I ever gone thru’ with other local companies. I did not have any problems with food where I ate from their hotels they have booked. Thanks Mr Lam for hosting a grand lunch for me on my last day in Ha Noi just before my departure to Australia. Much appreciated

We just returned from our three weeks in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, and could not be happier with the arrangements Lam made for us. We were two couples, and wanted a five star tour. Based on the hotels, guides, cruises, etc, we got everything we asked for, at prices far more reasonable than other companies (like AK).
We began and ended in HCM City, to facilitate our international travel through HKG. Using the detailed itinerary which Lam proposed to us, we were able to make modifications to suit our preferences. And wherever available, we flew business class between cities – private airport lounges and special transport to and from planes, makes the small extra cost well worth the expense.
The cruise on HaLong Bay was a magical. Watching the monks receive alms, before dawn in Luang Prabang Laos, and the floating fishing village outside Siem Reap Cambodia, were my highlights.
But so many memories.
Given the US history in SE Asia, I wasn’t sure how we would be received. So I was more than pleasantly surprised at how friendly virtually everyone was.
If we had it to do over, we would hire Indochine Pioneer without hesitation. They have truly earned all their favorable reviews.
