This is my second trip with Asia Pioneer. After 2 weeks in Cambodia and Vietnam last June, I planned a group trip with 14 high school students to Siem Reap, Cambodia, Hoi An, Mai Chau, Hanoi and Halong Bay in Vietnam in late March. Once again, Lam did an amazing job panning our itinerary. Our guides were excellent: friendly, punctual and always willing to be flexible with our schedule based on our group’s needs. Many of our meals were selected by Asia Pioneer and included in our group tour price, and they were great restaurants with multiple course meals. Lam was able to make some last minute changes to our hotels to bring our price down when our group numbers were lower than originally planned. I was very impressed with all the hotels we stayed in. Staff was friendly and helpful, hotels were spacious and clean, and all had swimming pools.As always, Lam was prompt in replying to emails and helping us prepare for our trip. Our students are photography students, and our guide in Hanoi, Tan, area was also a photographer which as a great help. The itinerary included many special early morning trips to photographic locations which was a treat for the students. Asia Pioneer handled all aspects of our trip including flights from Cambodia to Vietnam, internal flights in Vietnam, transportation, guides, hotels and meals. All services were excellent!

My husband and I travelled for nearly two months throughout Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. Our trip was arranged by Asia Pioneers, a travel agency operating out of Hanoi, specializing in custom-designed tours. Our consultant, Mr. Quyen “Quinny” Le, was the essence of professionalism in arranging our tour. Over the course of our preparations via email, he worked closely and confidently with us to ensure that our itinerary matched our vision for a trip heavy on history, culture and local cuisine. He interpreted and improved upon my research, and meticulously attended to our concerns and modifications.

During the trip, EVERY planned element of the trip went perfectly. We did the four star hotel option, all of which met our expectations. All the day tours were fascinating, well-paced and aligned with our requests. Every local guide informative, engaging and detail-oriented, and put us at ease on account of their English-language skills. They were also fun and very open minded! Because Asia Pioneers works with local guides and drivers, we wasted no time looking for places or waiting on lines. Also, when we arrived in a new country and airport, we were met with gracious and punctual drivers who whisked us away to our hotels.

Asia Pioneers took us to some of the best ‘must see’ locations of Southeast Asia: a central location in bustling Ho Chi Minh City at the Grand Silverland Hotel, an in-depth tour of the Mekong River and delta, an exciting tour of authentic street food in Hanoi, and an enchanting cruise of Halong Bay on Orchid Cruise – and that’s just Vietnam! In more far-flung parts of Laos and Cambodia, we felt the warmth and hospitality of people whose tourist markets are developing very quickly.

We are deeply grateful for Quinny’s research and perfectionism. He created a two-month journey that exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Asia Pioneers as your best option for planning a customized, stress-free and enriching trip through Southeast Asia.

I am a sixty year old woman traveling alone in north west Vietnam. i had such excellent and professional service from start to finish. They organized the tour just as I had wanted it. The owner Mr Lam was there to offer all kinds of help . Everything was organized like clockwork . The guide showed up on time, the car was impeccably clean at all times. My driver was excellent on all counts. He always had cold water and a package of wet face wipes, a welcome way to beat the heat. They thought of everything. My driver was courteous, safe, and neat and clean when he arrived. I have to applaud the experience and knowledge of the guide.
Often I had access to villages and people because of his professional relationship with them. Traveling alone I never felt unsafe or anxious. I stayed in many nice hotels on my tour. I was always escorted to my hotel, the guide took care of my checkin I literally had nothing to do except enjoy my room. Even at the airport and the train from Sapa everything was looked after exceptionally well.
I was very happy with the service I received but more happy that I had hired a Vietnamese company that supported local guides and the local economy when I booked my trip I thought I would try two different companies just in case one was poor I would not be stuck. iI was wrong. I should have stuck to Asia Pioneers. indochina Odessey presented as a Vietnamese company when indeed they are aChinese company. I did not receive as good or personable service from them. We had an absolutely great tour with Pioneer. Quyen was our tour guide for Vietnam and Cambodia and was a delight. We covered a lot of territory, Hanoi, Saigon, Halong Bay for 3 days and Siem Reap. Great hotels, tours and just the right pace for this short time in these countries with sites to be seen but also time to relax and explore on our own. Would book with them again. We spent an amazing 21 days exploring Cambodia and Vietnam on a tour organised by Lam Duong from Asia Pioneer. Every part of the trip went smoothly, from the car drivers to the fantastic english speaking guides, who were very attentive to our needs. We could change the itinery if we decided to. We travelled from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap to the amazing bustling city of HCMC. To the Mekong Delta, Hoi An to Hue , then one of our favourites Sapa. An amazing phtographers paradise then Hanoi, another bustling amazing city then on to the tranquility of Halong Bay. All the Hotels were of a very high standard . what really made it such a fantastic holiday was the attention to detail to aspects of the trip. The pre planing with Asia Pioneer really made us feel at ease if we wanted something added or deleted it was not a problem at all. Lam even telephoned us to talk about parts of the itinery. We are planning a return to vietnam and wouldn’t hesitate to book through Indochina again. Would highly recommend this company. Two very happy travellers.

Where do we start!! Never being ones for doing “trips/tours”, as we always like doing our own thing, that is not being taken to places guides think we want to see or souvenier outlets, or hanging around waiting for the rest of the bus!! We took a leap of faith booking our tour to Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos with Indochina, but from the start of the planning last August to throughly enjoying our tour Jan/Feb this year the service we received was exeptional. Kata had to be very patient with us while we fine tuned our trip numerous times so we could vist all the places we wanted to see in the time scale we had. But she got it perfect in the end thanks Kata.

We had a private tour just my self and my husband. All the hotels were lovely, the guides were all so well mannered, polite and had a good knowledge of the English language, and a great knowledge of their individual countries and attractions. The transport was perfect, clean safe vehicles, the drivers were polite and very punctual, we were treated like Royalty nothing was too much trouble.

It really was a trip of a lifetime, seen and experienced so much, and I would not hesitate to recomend Asia Pioneer to anyone.

They are such a great team too, we were very fortunate to meet a lot of them in person as we happened to be in Hanoi ,Vientnam for Chinese New Year this year, and we were invited to Indochina’s staff party at a local restaurant, we had such a good evening great food, wine and company, it was a shame we had to leave quite early for our overnight train to Sapa,(now that was and experience!!!)

WOW! That doesn’t even describe what an amazing, two-week visit that my husband and I just had to Vietnam through Asia Pioneer. Lam helped us plan what was not a trip, but a life-experience.
Lam was wonderful to deal with. He worked very hard to help us plan a very active itinerary. We enjoyed the areas Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Sapa, Ninh Binh, Hue and Hoi An.
Everything was taken care of including hotels, flights within Vietnam, transportation, most meals, many amazing activities and private tour guides who gave us so much information and culture that we never would have received traveling on our own. These guides became life-long friends.
Lam listened to everything that we wanted in our visit and made it happen.
What we liked the most was the fact that we felt like we were truly experiencing Vietnam.
In addition to the tourist things, we also did a home stay with a wonderful family, we helped a salt farmer clear rain water from her pads which kept her from making salt, we helped a peanut farmer harvest peanuts, learned how to make incense, coconut candy and bed mats. We rode bikes through villages and were warmly welcomed by the local people as we rode by their homes.
This is a trip that we will never forget.
