We have just returned from an amazing trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. This was arranged fro us by Ruby at Asia Pioneer. And what a fantastic job she did. From the moment we contacted her she worked with us to give us exactly the holiday we wanted, incorporating our wishes and suggesting others which turned out to be perfect. Everything was executed with such professionalism. I could not find one negative during our holiday. All the positives included amazing accommodations, excellent drivers and guides, entrances to sites, activities such as Christmas Eve on Halong Bay, Asian Cookery class in Hoi An, a Lantern making class, Street food tour, Cu Chi Tunnels, a Vespa Tour in Saigon (do not miss this if you are ever in Saigon), New Years Eve Gala in Hoi An, and to top it all off, a sunset and sunrise at Anchor Wat, and many more activities too numerous to mention but at the same time giving us time to explore and enjoy on our own.
Even when there was a slight problem with one of our guides in Hanoi, the manager/owner of Asia Pioneer came to meet us and had a replacement guide with us in a very short time. (Hope Duc our guide was ok). It was a delight to meet Ruby in Hanoi and what can we say to her and her team but thanks a million for the most amazing holiday. We received outstanding service from start to finish and when (not if) we return to Indochina we will definitely get Ruby and her team to arrange our trip.

When planning our trip to Vietnam (our first time there), we weren’t sure if we wanted to use a tour company to help us plan and execute it. We usually prefer to do things ourselves, but after doing our research and talking to friends who had been, we decided to look into a tour company. We found Asia Pioneer (and Mr. Lam) through TripAdvisor and we are so happy we did. We were there for 12 days and went from the top of the country to the bottom. Asia Pioneer made sure everything went smoothly and were very flexible in the cases where we wanted to switch things up along the way. Mr. Lam was always available to quickly help with any questions or changes we had (but it was so well planned, we didn’t have to reach out much!).

Over the course of our trip, we had 4 different guides/drivers. Really, these were the stars of our trip. We spent a lot of time in the car, and it was such a pleasure to be able spend time with the guides and getting to know about them and Vietnam while driving through the country.

Logistically, everything was well thought out – we had busy days, but still plenty of time to relax and unwind. The cars (SUVs actually) were great, with fresh waters always awaiting us. You are never on a group tour – just you and your guide/driver, which was important to us.

We hope we are lucky enough to go back to Vietnam, and if we do, we’ll definitely be signing up with Asia Pioneer again.

We travelled the NW loop (Hanoi- Dien Bien, Sapa, Hanoi) of Vietnam in Nov. ’14. We also visited Halong Bay, did a day tour of Hanoi, and a day tour of the Ancient Villages near Hanoi. All of these tours were arranged by Mr. Lam of Asia Pioneers. Our english speaking guide was excellent as was the driver. We enjoyed many good laughs with them.

I would highly recommend Asia Pioneer and Mr. Lam … he and his company put together an excellent tour for us, were very quick to respond to any questions, and I consider them to be very professional.

We travelled to Cambodia & Vietnam in September 2016 (3 weeks). Contacted Asia Pioneer to setup a custom private trip, identified all our requirements (we are very experienced travelers), some very specific and Mr. Lam Duong from Asia Pioneer provided us with an excellent extensive itinerary that met all our needs. Lam was very understanding and focused on our requirements and made several recommendations and suggestions that turned out great! Off the back, Lam’s customer service attitude was exceptional!

WOW! The entire team at Asia Pioneer were fantastic, completely customer focused and adapted very quickly to any dynamic situation like the weather or if we felt we needed a different option on a an item in the itinerary. This agency and its staff are the best for any tour in South-East Asia and we would use them again and absolutely recommend Asia Pioneer to family and friends!

Our trip started in Cambodia, Phnom Penh & Siam Reap (5 days) and then to Vietnam from Ho Chi Min (south) to Hanoi (north) and a multitude of surrounding cities, towns, villages (18 days). We travelled by local air, luxury coach, vip-cabin train, luxury cruise-boat and private cars throughout our trip and Asia Pioneer’s setup was flawless, we did not have to think or be concerned with anything, they pampered us from start to finish. All our drivers and tour staff were very experienced, knowledgeable and customer focused.

Our experiences were full and rich, with culture, food, history, people, sights-sounds and all the beauty of Cambodia & Vietnam… AWESOME, AMAZING, FANTASTIC!!!

My husband and I toured Cambodia and Vietnam through Asia Pioneer. We debated organizing everything on our own, but decided to go through them instead. We so glad we did! Mr. Lam had everything so well organized! We were never in any large groups, in fact, most of the time it was just us plus a guide so it felt like a very private experience. We were so glad we weren’t part of a large tour group being herded from one place to the next. All of the guides and drivers were prompt, courteous, and very friendly. We even recommended that our friends, the Potters, travel through Indochina. They ended up having a very nice time and were just as impressed with the guides as we were. We cannot wait to book our next tour through Asia Pioneer!

Our family decided to visit Vietnam at the last minute for the Christmas holiday, which is the busy season. I found it too difficult to make all the necessary arrangements myself for an itinerary that I researched so I contacted Asia Pioneer which had excellent reviews on Trip Advisor for assistance. I was very impressed with the professionalism and quality of advice, scheduling, tour guides and drivers that were arranged. From the beginning of the process of working with Mr. Lam, our organizer, the communications were timely and clear, and the administrative arrangements very professional which made me feel very comfortable. We visited Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc Island, Halong Bay and Hanoi. The hotels and side trips that Indochina arranged were all excellent. Our guides met us at the airport and at the hotel each day for our excursions. The guides spoke English, were fun to be with and knowledgeable, and flexible with each day’s itinerary to accommodate any special requests and changes. I would highly recommend Indochina and will use them again on our next trip over.

Less than two weeks before heading to China for work, I decided to see if perhaps I could squeeze in a fun solo trip to neighboring countries while on that side of the world. I usually like to visit at my own pace but since I knew I would be short on time, I decided to give Asia Pioneer a shot. After all, they did seem to have great reviews.

The professionalism and speed by which all my questions were answered only solidified my decision to go ahead and book everything in advance with the help of Mr. Lam (who must be working around the clock considering the speed at which I would get replies; and that, regardless of the time at which I emailed him).

Within 10 days, Mr. Lam had organized an awesome itinerary for me to visit both Vietnam and Cambodia. It was a very well organized and extremely detailed day by day itinerary. Included was: information on visa/forms, flights, hotels, meals, guide name and phone number, a brief summary of the day’s itinerary along with some relevant history, currency exchange rate, gratuity customs, do’s and don’ts, etc.

Needless to stay I was more than ready when the time came for me to go. For every region I visited, I was greeted by wonderful tour guides who beside speaking remarkably well english and being knowledgeable about the region, were just so delightful to be with. They made me feel comfortable right away. It was almost like if I was traveling with an old buddy of mine. They were all ready to accommodate me and go beyond the scoop of the planned itinerary if I wanted to. They even did extra research at night if they didn’t have the answer to one of my questions and would come back with an answer the very next morning (some even made drawings to help explain certain important points).

The drivers were also very friendly, polite, helpful and punctual. Again, they opened doors for me, offered me waters and even asked me if I needed to make stops along the way. They all had nice air conditioned cars/jeeps which given the temperature in some regions, was a definite plus!

Aside from having great tour guides and drivers, Mr. Lam also arranged for me to stay in beautiful accommodations with very friendly staff and nice restaurants. All in and all, I had a fantastic time and cannot wait to travel through Asia Pioneers again! They really made me feel like a princess from beginning to the end!
