This review is for an 8-day Vietnam tour in March 2026. The planning and communications were great, and for the most part, the tour was very good. We upgraded to the 5-star accommodations, and they were definitely VERY nice!
I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because a few things weren’t quite as described in the itinerary. First, the day one drive to Sapa was listed as 5 hours, but actually took closer to 7, which left us with very little time upon arrival. Our flight to Hue was also delayed, so we arrived very late and had no time at all for our first day there.
Additionally, a couple of specific experiences didn’t happen: we ate at a restaurant instead of in a local family home during the trekking tour, and we didn’t get to help prepare the meal during the bike tour as expected (though the lunch provided by a local woman was nice). I also expected the bike tour to be in a more picturesque area.
As this was my first organized tour, I’ve learned to ask more specific questions and not plan so many heavy travel days next time. Overall, it was still a good experience, and Rachel was excellent to work with.

Thanks to Rachel, my trip organiser, I had an amazing holiday in North and Central Vietnam. I found this company by accident online, emailed them and Rachel organised my trip with my input on the side. Communication was mostly immediate reply, all my requests were included and I was given excellent advice.
I’m an older person and although my schedule was pretty full on, it was enjoyable because everything was taken care of, visa, airport pick ups, local guides etc. And Rachel was there 24/7 for ‘issues’ like “was I at the hotel yet” when our mini van was held up for 3 hours in a motorway traffic jam. Sooo reassuring to know that someone has your back when you’re travelling alone in a foreign country. Highly recommend this company and Vietnam for a holiday. I previously visited the South, hence this trip to North & Central region – amazing country/history/food and the people I met were so helpful and just ‘Nice’. I went on a two-and-a-half-week trip to Vietnam with a friend. The trip to Vietnam was arranged by Rachel of Asia Pioneer. Rachel was attentive to all our requests for changes until the last minute. She accompanied us all along the way and the plan worked as planned.
We had fun in Thailand too.

Chloe from Asia Pioneer Travel planned an extraordinary trip for my husband and myself to Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Hong Kong. Everything went like clockwork-we had drivers/guides take us to and from the airports, help with visas needed, beautiful hotels, wonderful excursions, great pacing of the trip. Our days with the guides were flexible. We appreciated being able to change the start/end time or the itinerary each day with our guides.

I usually plan our trips myself. I am very picky and detail oriented. Chloe was an excellent communicator and patiently answered my hundreds of picky questions. She was very committed to planning the trip of a lifetime for us. Chloe even met us at our hotel in Hanoi.
Our trip exceeded our expectations and we hope to use Chloe again to plan future travel. We have friends who are using Chloe for a similar trip next year. I would highly recommend Chloe.

We were introduced to Winston through friends that had used him. Winston planned out our trip for 6 adults with the most unique experiences. We were able to experience trekking through rice fields, sleep on an overnight train, learn Cambodian cooking, cruise in Hanoi Bay and even go motorbiking.
He was very easy to work with and so experienced and helpful.
In every city we visited, we had the best tour guides and van services available.

The best trip ever! Maris was such a great travel designer from the start to the finish. She was very thorough in listening to what we wanted and make such a great trip. We had ZERO issues with our trip. The drivers and tour guides were wonderful.
