We booked out tour with kata and have had a wonderful 2 weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia. Picked up and transported to hotel. We arrived on 2 separate flights. Vietnam is really wonderful and managed to squeeze in several cities. Halong bay, Mekong delta, hue, Ho Chi Minh city and sadly only one day in hoian. Would definitely have enjoyed an extra day there drifting around the streets and restaurants on the other side of the river. We loved our holiday and mr lam and indochina were so helpful when we had an unexpected problem. Would highly recommend.

Having used Asia Pioneer and Mr Lam in January 2016, we once again called on his excellent knowledge and experience to help with our latest trip to Hanoi, Lao, and Myanmar. Mr Lam put together a wonderful holiday experience where most of our time was spent visiting Myanmar. The company used is Myanmar provided knowledgeable guides and pleasant drivers. We had a relaxing time having 3 nights with Amara River Cruise. With only 6 guests and staff of 13 one felt very spoilt. Our favourite place is Hanoi but added to our list is the superb Inle Lake. A big thank you to Lam as well as Dong, Ken, Sai, Cho, Aung, Tin and Lin and all drivers.

We provided some input as to what we wanted to see and do and they seamlessly put it all together for us. There wasn’t one glitch in our trip and we all said we wouldn’t change anything.
All of our guides and drivers were amazing. They spoke English well and couldn’t do enough for us. They told us where and what to eat often buying food for us to sample from the markets and street vendors.The drivers were very experienced and careful even in the large cities where you might be taking your life in your hands just crossing the street. They even taught us how to cross the street safely which is an art in its self.
We went to the obvious and well known sights but also some that were off the beaten track. We travelled by air, 5 internal flights, boat and Sampan, train, bike, kayak and canoe. I couldn’t say there was a favorite thing to do or see. We were blown away each time we went somewhere even when thinking do we really need to go to another market. They were all so individual and amazing and the temples as well.

Asia Pioneer provide us with an outstanding vacation. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and adapted to changes we wanted on the fly with no hesitation. I felt they were proud of their country’s history, culture and people. The events planned for us gave us all a great feeling for the country. From the hustle and moped-filled streets of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, to the spectacular countryside in Sapa, beach front in Hoi An, to water adventures in Ha Long Bay and the Mekong river–each day was a day you did not want to end. The food, hotels and sightseeing were all top notch and provided great value for dollar. Indochina was less expensive than two other companies we checked out for an essentially identical itinerary. I was so impressed, I plan to return soon and see those places I did not see in my 16 days.

A few hints (sorry these are American focused). Bring single dollars for tips and miscellaneous small items–the $ is widely accepted. I was able to change currency at the hotel for a good rate and avoid the 3% fee the ATMs charge you.

The trip surpassed my expectations, all the details were considered and well planned. I would strongly reommend to anyone consdiering traveling to Sorhteast Asia to cosider Asia Pioneer; they´re owtstanding.

My husband and I planned to spend 30 days in South East Asia. We contacted Asia Pioneer after a friend’s recommendation. The rest is the story of a spectacular adventure. Our trip took us to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. We wanted to include a river cruise of the Mekong Delta, a beach vacation somewhere in the middle, local culture, history, etc.
We met with families, walked the river paths, lounged on a stunning beach, rode elephants and petted tigers, planted rice, toured tribal villages, visited museums, war fields, markets, temples and palaces, and enjoyed scenery that left us in quiet wonder. We were thrilled with a private sampan cruise of the Mekong with a crew of three and a private guide for three nights and four days.
Kata Tran put it all together for us with guides and drivers that accommodated every whim we had. Her responses were immediate, her suggestions right on target. Planning the trip with Kata was fun. The trip itself was spectacular.
