We have just returned from a very enjoyable, food-focused tour of Vietnam arranged by Asia Pioneer Travel, based in Hanoi. Our 15 day tour was wide-ranging and included quality hotels, excellent guides and perfect coordination of all transfers and day trips, including a 2 night cruise on Ha Long Bay. Our tour coordinator, Annie was a marvel who communicated every detail and made the whole experience trouble free. Payment was easy and secure. We paid only a little more than the group tour price for a private tour for 4 people, with our own drivers and guides throughout. The Vietnamese people are friendly, helpful and justifiably proud of their country. Vietnam is still very affordable, and our trip was good value, comprehensive, and comfortable.

My wife and myself spent 10 days in Vietnam. We tried the travel agencies in Adelaide but were not satisfied with the proposed tours/schedules. So we tried Asia Pioneer Travel. Right from our 1st correspondence until our last day day in Vietnam, Asia Pioneer Travel were exceptional. From Winston in the office to Tom and Alex (our personal tour guides in Hanoi and Hoi An, as well as the drivers), their service and organisation was outstanding. Amidst the chaos that is Vietnam, we could always rely on APT being there for us. Not only was their knowledge of all things Vietnamese outstanding, their flexibility in last minute changes was impressive. Nothing was too much. We had a great time and do not hesitate to recommend Asia Pioneer Travel to others. We will use them again!

Highly recommend booking with Annie. We had to change our plans back and forth a few times and Annie was very patient and accomodating all through. She did her best to make our trip very smooth and pleasurable, which it turned out to be. The reason I cut didn’t give 5/5 is because of the hotel accomodation in Chiang Mai, certainly not a 4 star hotel. The room we were given had termites visibly crawling all over the wooden bed frame.

Apart from the inconvenience of that 1 hotel, the whole trip was very fluid, with wonderful guides, transfer vehicles and tourist places well recommended by Annie.

In spite of being in Vietnam (which I did not realise prior to starting conversation with Annie), she organised the trip so very well, purely by online communication. Any of our next SE Asian tours will certainly be with Annie.

I’ve always wanted to do a South East Asia trip and came across Asia Pioneer Travel and thought I would send off an enquiry. I was contacted by Winston, one of the company’s tour designers and loved the fact that I could customise the trip to suit our own interests and pace. Winston took the time to find out what we really wanted from our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, taking in our need for some free time and slower pace due to knee issues and put together the perfect itinerary for us. He answered all my (many) questions promptly and courteously. I was so impressed I decided to ask him to add Thailand to our itinerary so we ended up spending almost 4 marvellous weeks away exploring South East Asia. Everything went smoothly, our hoteks, drivers and guides were great, sites were breathtaking and Winston was always available and kept in touch throughout our trip to make sure we were happy right up to when we got back home. There were way too many highlights to list but we were most touched by the many surprises on our trip that were organised by Winston and his team when he realised we were celebrating our birthdays and anniversary on this trip. It really made us feel special e.g. when he met us at our hotel in Hanoi with a birthday cake as it was my husband’s birthday that day. He definitely didn’t forget mine either which was celebrated on our Halong Bay cruise as was our anniversary. This was the first time my husband and I have ever done a private tour as we usually go on group tours but I am so glad we chose Asia Pioneer Travel. It was as close to perfect as you could get. I came across Asia Pioneer Travel on Google search but I was very skeptical at first since the travel agency is outside my country SA, worried about the flow of communication. I am so glad I took a chance with them because our communication with Agent Adam has been seamless and easy flowing since day 1. I didn’t know specifically which places I wanted to visit in Vietnam but Adam tailor made my itinerary to the tee, I’ve witnessed most of Vietnam’s attractions and adventures. No preparations needed to be done on our side as Adam prepared everything from the English speaking guides, shuttle services to and from airports, domestic flights, visas even the cultural food we had to experience. Vietnam is such a beautiful country, rich with history, gorgeous architectural structures, beautiful people and amazing first time experiences,BANA Hills it’s a must see. We had a wonderful experience in Indo China with Asia Pioneer. It was partly group an partly private. Our guides were exceptional ,especially the private ones. We have used them before and chose to use them again, good choice. Our tour advisor Cherry took extremely good car of us to make sure everything was seamless. Our tours and food were great, saw and tasted so much. The hotels were ok and in hindsight we should have gone 4star instead of 3, but the were all more than adequate. All in all a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
