My family and me recently spent a week in Vietnam (from 23 Dec 2025 to 28 Dec 2025) touring the north of the country (covering Hanoi, Ha Long Bay) and the south (covering Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta). It was a fantastic and all-round outstanding experience for me and each member of my family. Each of our destinations in the north and south of Vietnam offered us unique perspectives on Vietnam’s culture and history—Hanoi with its traditional charm, Ha Long Bay with its unique landscape, Ho Chi Minh City with its vibrant, modern energy and the Mekong Delta with its waterways supporting a wide variety of industries.
What really set this trip apart and contributed to the positive experience we had was the exceptional service provided by Asia Pioneer Travel. From the initial planning stage where the destinations were being chosen to the actual tour itself plus the follow-up, every detail was handled with precision and care. The itinerary was thoughtfully designed to balance a good mixture of sightseeing, cultural immersion, and relaxation. All the arrangements—flights, transfers, accommodations, and guided tours—were perfectly coordinated and well chosen, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience.

In February – March 2026, my husband and I ventured off to explore Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. We had a fantastic time learning about the culture, history and people. Our travel plan kept us busy almost every day exploring each destination. At the end of the day, we could relax in some wonderful boutique style hotels.

I found the trip very safe and the plan easy to follow, which allowed us to relax. We were greeted by guides at the airport and picked up the next day for tours. We told our travel coordinator that we also wanted to meet new people and so our plan included a mix of private and public tours. We met some interesting people from other countries and even met up with them in other cities along the way.

What truly elevated the experience, however, was working with our incredible travel agent, Maris Dang. She patiently collaborated with me over several months to build a 30-day itinerary, thoughtfully customizing each day to match our preferences. Despite the 14-hour time difference (which I occasionally forgot!), she was always gracious and responsive—even when I sent WhatsApp messages outside of normal working hours.

Maris supported us not only throughout the planning phase but also during our entire month-long journey. One of the most memorable personal touches was when she came to our hotel to meet my husband and me in person and surprised us with a gift—such a kind and thoughtful gesture!

During the trip, she remained just a message away, quickly helping with questions and even adjusting our plans when needed. With such a full itinerary, we found that, in our 60s, we needed to slow the pace a little. Maris handled everything seamlessly—no problem at all. She arranged the changes and ensured that the unused portions were credited back to our card, which we greatly appreciated.

Where to start with this amazing trip.

My husband and I have been planning our honeymoon with Elly for over 2 years. She was brilliant from the beginning: Taking the ideas we wanted to do and converting it into an amazing honeymoon. Unfortunately, we had to delay the honeymoon due to Covid but this wasn’t an issue with Asia Pioneer. The final price was honoured and was moved to the next year with ease and no stress.

I must admit I was initially a bit apprehensive of not using the widely known UK travel agencies. However, once working with Elly, I became more at ease and I knew that the details that were included in the trip and many destinations we wanted to see would have not been easily accommodated with other agencies.

Payment was easy with multiple options on how to pay.

Our honeymoon was a 3 week trip including the following places: Hanoi, Halong Bay, HoiAn, PhuQuoc Island, Ho Chi Min City, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket.

Just to summarise what Elly organised. All domestic flights, the international flight between Vietnam and Thailand, hotels, tour guides, transfers, activities and some meals.

From the moment we were picked up from Hanoi Airport to being dropped at Phuket Airport; we didn’t have to organise anything. We were given an extensive copy of our itinerary that we could follow throughout our trip.

We were fortunate to meet Elly in Hanoi who welcomed us to Vietnam. She was available for all of the trip to answer any questions we had. She also gave us a list of all the tour guide numbers and emergency contacts in Bangkok so we were well equipped if we needed support.

The hotels were all brilliant. We were given a selection from Elly and decided before we arrived. The majority of time the hotels were placed in a great location in each area (aside from PhuQuoc which was a resort so meant to be in a remote location). Our favourite was Lasenta Boutique Hotel in Hoi An with its views over looking the rice fields and its infinity pool.

The Tour guides in each location were friendly and very knowledgeable. Aside from one day the rest of our tours were private which was a great experience as the tours were tailored to your interests. Eric (Hanoi), Billy (Hoi An), Ally (Bangkok) and Ank (Chiang Mai) were the tour guides we spent the most time with and they were fantastic at their jobs and ensured that we were enjoying ourselves the entire time.

We had decided that as we were travelling a long distance to Thailand and Vietnam we wanted to make the most of our trip. Elly did not disappoint! I have listed a few of the many activities we did on our honeymoon. We visited multiple temples and historic monuments on detailed city tours, the train and floating market in Bangkok, Walking with elephants, Hot Air Balloon ride, the Vietamese War tunnels, Bana Hills, many boat trips on different vessels, Delicious food tours and set meals and an activity packed cruise ship in Halong Bay.

A massive thanks to Elly and Asia Pioneer for an amazing Honeymoon. Family and friends are in awe of all we did whilst we were in Vietnam and Thailand.

The only downside is I have got used to not having to organise my own holidays! Its going to make planning holidays so much harder now!

After almost 50 years away from VN, we decided to visit the country in April 2026. As referred by family member, I contacted Asian Pioneer Travel. Maris responded my email and asked for permission to speak via WhatsApp. We discussed the itinerary for the 11 day trip. Within the same day, she designed a travel plan that would fit our budget and meet our expectation. After couple tweaks to upgrade the hotel and meals, we finalized the trip from HCMC to Ha Noi with other destinations in between.
Maris is very competent, efficient, attentive to details and pleasant to work with. Basically, we just had to show up for the tour.
The most fun event, personally was the Vespa tour in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Felt like a local while weaving in and out of traffic. Also we had chances to try many local favourite snacks and food such as banh mi, papaya goi, egg coffee, pho, etc. It was a memorable trip in VN after being away for such a long time.

I preface my comments by saying that we have traveled extensively and I am usually the one that plan travel for my family. Working with someone else to plan a trip was a big change for us. My family took a ten day trip to Vietnam in May 2025. Asia Pioneer Travel took care of every detail. We had an incredibly enriching, fun and amazing trip.
