At Asia Pioneer Travel, travel is more than our business, it is our passion, our inspiration, and the foundation of everything we do. While we dedicate ourselves year-round to creating meaningful journeys for travelers across Asia, we also believe that the best travel professionals never stop exploring themselves. That is why our annual company trip has become one of the most anticipated events of the year. It is an opportunity for our team to step away from daily routines, strengthen relationships, experience new destinations firsthand, and return with fresh perspectives that ultimately benefit both our colleagues and our clients.

This year, our company trip took us to Guizhou, one of China’s most fascinating yet lesser-known provinces. Nestled among dramatic mountain landscapes and home to a rich tapestry of ethnic minority cultures, Guizhou offered the perfect setting for discovery, connection, and inspiration. Over five unforgettable days, our team journeyed through ancient villages, vibrant cultural communities, historic towns, and bustling local markets. More importantly, we shared experiences that reminded us why we love travel and why we are passionate about helping others discover the world.

Day 1: The Journey Begins
Every memorable adventure starts with anticipation.
As our team gathered at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport, excitement filled the air. For many of us, this was our first time visiting Guizhou, a destination often overlooked by international travelers in favor of China’s more famous cities and landmarks.
After an evening flight to Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, we arrived eager to begin exploring. The city’s cool climate and relaxed atmosphere immediately offered a refreshing contrast to the pace of everyday life.

Following check-in at our hotel, we spent the evening preparing for the days ahead and sharing our expectations for the journey. Conversations quickly shifted from work projects and deadlines to cultural discoveries, local cuisine, and the adventures waiting around the corner.

Day 2: Immersing Ourselves in Miao Culture
Our second day introduced us to one of the most memorable highlights of the entire company trip.
After breakfast, we visited Yangchang Painting Town, a charming cultural destination where colorful artistic expressions blend seamlessly with local traditions. The vibrant environment encouraged creativity and provided countless opportunities for photographs, conversations, and shared moments among the team.
From there, we continued our journey deeper into Guizhou’s cultural heartland toward Xijiang Thousand Household Miao Village.

Nestled among rolling mountains, this remarkable village is home to the largest Miao ethnic community in China. As we approached the village, thousands of traditional wooden houses appeared across the hillsides, creating a breathtaking panorama unlike anything most of us had ever seen.
Walking through the village felt like stepping into another world. Narrow pathways connected generations of history, while traditional architecture and local customs revealed a culture that has been carefully preserved for centuries.
As travel professionals, experiences like this are especially meaningful. They remind us that modern travelers increasingly seek authenticity, human connection, and opportunities to engage with local cultures beyond the typical tourist experience.
The evening brought another unforgettable moment as we participated in the famous Miao Long Table Banquet. Seated together among local traditions, music, and hospitality, we enjoyed regional specialties while learning more about the customs that continue to shape daily life in the community.
As night fell and the lights of the village illuminated the mountainside, many of us paused to appreciate the beauty of the moment. It was one of those rare travel experiences that stays with you long after the journey ends.
Day 3: Discovering Hidden Communities and Strengthening Connections
The third day of our company trip focused on exploration, reflection, and team bonding.
After waking up in the peaceful surroundings of the Miao Village, we continued to Grugesang Eighteen Villages, a collection of traditional ethnic settlements scattered across the mountains of Guizhou.

Surrounded by pristine landscapes and lush greenery, the villages offered a glimpse into a way of life deeply connected to nature and community. Here, traditions are not preserved for visitors, they remain an active part of everyday life.
As we explored together, the conversations naturally became deeper. Away from office desks and virtual meetings, colleagues from different departments had the opportunity to connect on a more personal level. Shared experiences often create the strongest bonds, and throughout the day, we found ourselves learning not only about the destination but also about one another.
The long drive to Anshun later that afternoon became another unexpected opportunity for connection. Stories were exchanged, laughter echoed through the bus, and memories continued to accumulate.
Upon arriving in Anshun, we enjoyed an evening stroll through the city’s historic streets, soaking in the atmosphere before gathering for dinner and reflecting on the experiences of the previous days.

By this point in the trip, it was clear that the journey was accomplishing far more than sightseeing. It was strengthening the relationships that help us collaborate effectively and support one another throughout the year.
Day 4: Walking Through History in Guiyang
One of the most rewarding aspects of travel is the opportunity to better understand the history and heritage that shape a destination.
On our fourth day, we returned to Guiyang and visited Qingyan Ancient Town, one of the most well-preserved historic settlements in Guizhou Province.

Dating back more than six centuries, the town’s stone-paved streets, ancient walls, temples, and traditional architecture provided a fascinating window into China’s past. As we wandered through narrow alleyways lined with local shops and historic buildings, we gained a deeper appreciation for the generations of people who have called this place home.
The slower pace of the town encouraged us to pause, observe, and fully immerse ourselves in the atmosphere. In many ways, Qingyan represented the kind of destination that modern travelers increasingly value, authentic, culturally rich, and filled with stories waiting to be discovered.
Later in the day, we visited Jiaxiu Pavilion, the iconic symbol of Guiyang. Gracefully standing above the Nanming River, the pavilion has witnessed centuries of change while remaining a proud landmark of the city’s cultural identity.

The visit offered not only stunning views but also a reminder of the importance of preserving heritage while embracing progress, a balance that resonates strongly with our own approach to travel.
As evening approached, our team explored Qingyun Market, one of Guiyang’s most vibrant culinary and cultural hubs. The lively atmosphere, local delicacies, colorful stalls, and energetic crowds provided the perfect setting to conclude another memorable day.
Whether sampling local snacks, shopping for souvenirs, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, everyone found their own favorite moments within the market’s bustling streets.
Day 5: Returning Home Inspired
Like all great journeys, our company trip eventually came to an end.
Before departing Guiyang, we enjoyed one final opportunity to experience local culture and reflect on the remarkable experiences we had shared throughout the week.
As we made our way back to Hanoi, conversations naturally turned toward our favorite moments of the trip. Some spoke about the breathtaking views of Xijiang Miao Village. Others reflected on the history of Qingyan Ancient Town, the warmth of local hospitality, or the friendships strengthened during the journey.
While everyone had different highlights, one theme remained constant: the value of experiencing a destination together.
Travel has a unique ability to bring people closer, encourage new perspectives, and create memories that continue to inspire long after returning home.
